Folks – I attended a County Groundbreaking Ceremony today for a new park and new library on Greenbriar near Longleaf Pine.  A very happy ceremony to celebrate new amenities for our residents here in the Northwest County. My attached picture is a little dim, but I’m sure the County will post a very bright and colorful one soon and we can post that.

Included in this groundbreaking today was a new branch library, which may bring some relief to the high volume use of our Bartram Trail Branch Library, and may open some possibilities for a Bartram Education Center and Gardens that our Scenic Highway Master Plan identifies.  I had good conversations with our Library Director and Branch Manager about that, and they’d like to talk more.

I also had an excellent conversation with County Commissioner Christian Whitehurst and our Parks and Rec Director, Ryan Kane, who do want to learn more about the Scenic Highway and about the future Bartram-named parks, gardens, and boating / hiking / biking trails also in our Scenic Highway Master Plan.

Good conversations today and happy times as the County is building new amenities for families and residents.
