Dear Folks – Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of visiting Westminster Woods Senior Center with our William Bartram Scenic & Historic Highway Master Gardeners, and we met with, walked with, and talked with their Gardening Committee leaders about new gardens and flowers we could plant together. How fun and refreshing everything was.

The Westminster committee will identify numerous spots for gardens around the campus, and our Master Gardeners will then advise on native plants that will grow best and thrive there. Our Master Gardeners will then present plans to the Scenic Highway Board (and very likely modest costs), and with that funding, work on those gardens and work our new friendships with these wonderful seniors can begin.

I am so proud that our Scenic Highway group is looking for ways to be active in the community, and I think William Bartram himself would be so happy that gardens and flowers are a way that we are doing that.

I’m really looking forward to all of this,
Joe
